Mini Texts: A Fusion of Grammar, Communication and Vocabulary Development in CLT (Communicative Language Teaching)

Rich and adequate input is the first foremost condition for perfect language learning, other important things come later in order to achieve goal of developing communicative competence a learning process an EFL or ESL setting. In this context, Communicative Language Learning (CLT) still most prevalent approach English learning/teaching field both settings. settings CLT adopted nowadays with some reservations. One solution drawbacks "mini texts" provide rich as they subsume grammar, communication, importantly, vocabulary development. Objectives: The main objective critically assess role mini texts learning. Method: Collaborative action research design was outcome teaching under improved approach. Brief written oral performance tests class ten students were used tools evaluation. Purposive sampling selection thirty schools three districts Kathmandu Valley whereas random select respondent mixed ability test. test items easy enough be answered by average even lower classes. based on fixed criteria: different elements grammatical write speak correctly, also essential aspects informal colloquial fast spoken English. Let alone government where belong lower-class unprivileged families, private schools, so called A grade proficiency from viewpoint Surprisingly, not single school could obtain pass marks same secure good their national level SEE exam.Conclusion: current practice Nepalese deficient (i) input, (ii) suitable methods produce desirable better proficiency. Mini have out appropriate experimented large scale essential, grammar points, stock communication-oriented exercises.
